RUGGED Quench Oil facilitates hardening of steel by controlling heat transfer from the steel during the quenching process. Special additives in RUGGED Quench Oil improve wetting of the steel to minimize undesirable thermal and transformational changes that may lead to increased distortion and cracking. RUGGED Quench Oil was developed for quenching that requires a light-viscosity oil, a high flash point and excellent dispersant/detergent properties.
